7. Landing On Her Feet

SPLAT! SPLAT!

The eggs flew accurately through the air, shattering on contact with the wooden door. The raw, viscous insides began to slowly slip down, coating the paint with a sticky trail. A delighted laugh rang out, punctuating the evening’s silence before a light flashed on inside the house.

Mr. Langerak, a teacher at the local high school stormed outside, still in his suit from a hard day’s teaching. He angrily surveyed the damage caused to his property.

‘You absolute fool! I’m going to make sure you pay for this, you… You… Hey! Come back here!’

He marched down the stairs of his porch, shouting after the figure that was running away into the distance, the flowers on her faded dress illuminated under the street lights.

  1. great chapter!!!! so glad she has tristan now and i love her and matt as a couple. i have to say the jail chapters were very exciting and you have used a lot of the time line skipping very effectively to keep the twists hidden so congrats on that i never know what is coming. the jail chapters also reminded me a bit of Bad Girls – did you get any inspiration from the show? either way they’re both great.

im wondering now if matt grows up to become the heir and that’s when ivy will show up wanting her share πŸ˜€ its obviously just speculation but would be good or else if that doesnt happen i know ill love it anyways.

canot wait for friday, you’re doing an amazing job. keep it up!

    • Thank you so much! Yes, I LOVE Bad Girls and was going through a phase of rewatching the entire series when I started this legacy, so putting Cassie in prison was a nice way of linking my BG and Sims3 obsessions πŸ˜€ G Wing is obviously a homage to the show, and I made Alicia based slightly on Shell Dockley and Kym on Nikki Wade. Nearly called the prison Larkhall too, but decided not to go that far! Thanks for noticing! Are you a fan of the show?

Thanks for reading, I’m really pleased you’re enjoying the story! πŸ™‚ And thank you for commenting!

      • I think it’s Ivy too!lol. Loved it miss, and thought there mighta been some inspiration in there from bad girls! I used to love the show!lol. Can’t wait for the next chapter! By the way i’m sure you don’t really want to know lol, but I did indeed pass my 2nd year of uni soo… roll on 3rd year!llol. πŸ™‚ xx

      • Of course I want to know! Congratulations πŸ™‚ And good luck for next year too! The real work starts now, haha!
Thanks for reading! I’m really pleased you enjoyed it πŸ™‚ Cheers!!

  2. Haha thanks :), I know ha, i’m really dreading it since I don’t know what i’m gonna do after lol. What are you doing now since you finished your degree? And your welcome, your legacies really are a pleasure to read! x

    • I’m playing the Sims and writing a blog about it :p I’m not doing anything else much yet! Not sure what I want to do, haha. And thank you again! πŸ™‚

  3. Oooooooh fine… you’ve convinced me. You are a kind and sweet author who wants only the best for both her characters and her readers. I’m just thrilled that Cassie’s actually happy, and who knows (other than you), maybe she will find her little girl and they can really be a big happy family.

Another wonderfully written chapter, I wasn’t confused at all by the timeline the way you presented it and it was great to have the surprise of “oh! a baby!” as opposed to “look she’s all knocked up.” I think I like this way better πŸ˜€

    • I’m pleased you’ve come round to my way of thinking! :p Sian knows best!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and you followed the timeline alright! I do panic sometimes, haha. I’ll definitely do another chapter in this style soon, in that case πŸ™‚
      Thank you for reading!! πŸ™‚

  4. O: I have a feeling Ivy didn’t turn out too well after being shuffled around in the system her whole life…

Another great chapter! On to the next! I’m not going to sleep until 5 or 6 this morning, I just know it.

  5. Awesome chapter! I’m very happy that everything is finally looking up for Cassie! I’m glad that she found true happiness with Matt and I must say that little Tristan is just adorable! It’s nice to have more of Maria and see Sue again. And as for Ivy…. well she didn’t turn out too well and I can only hope that she won’t end up in prison like her mother! It’s sad to think that she’s on the wrong path but it is good to finally have some news on how she’s doing! And she’s still in the Valley, I think πŸ˜€ That raises the hopes of finding her now!

Fantastic chapter, as always I’ve really enjoyed this! Great work on the legacy and now I’m off to read the next chapter πŸ˜€

  6. My plan was just to silent read until the end, but Aww!

    β€˜Mumma… I waiteded for you…’

Best. Line. Forever. An audible ‘Aww’ came out of my mouth, and tears pinches my eyes. It was so amazing. Honestly, I’ve seen the chapter page so I know Ivy’s the heiress, but I can’t wait to see what happens!
